| Ok Tedi Mining Company (OTML), Papua New Guinea
During 2005 and 2006 Water Science PL in collaboration with the Water Studies Centre at Monash University developed a set of Bayesian Network models to assist OTML in assessing the environmental risks due to channel aggradation and ARD in the Fly River, and the potential to minimise these risks by introducing a new tailing treatment plant. |

• Review of the environmental monitoring program for Porgera Joint Venture, PNG
Water Science Pty Ltd was part of a team that reviewed the environmental monitoring program being undertaken by the Porgera Gold mine in the central highland of PNG. The primary objectives were to: (a) assess the effectiveness of the program; (b) identify any changes that would improve it; (c) review the relevance of the existing compliance points; and (d) develop site-specific compliance criteria that would have future application when evaluating mine closure
